Mal de Mer Longriders Club Inc. Cancelled - “21st Annual MAL MUSTER - 2010” Rainbow Beach – Bonny Hills – 20th 21st 22nd August 2010 Our club has been unsuccessful in obtaining permission to run the Mal Muster this year from the local authorities. The Australian longboard titles and Australian Masters have been moved forward and conflict with our event dates. It is claimed that they do not want any other events on that may take visitation away from the main event! Our comp has been running 21 years this year and over the years we have made donations to hospitals, sporting individuals, and cancer funds with moneys raised. The area of the Camden Haven has benefited greatly from the Mal Muster, with competitors becoming residents and all the money that comes to all the businesses at a traditionally slow time of the year. We understand that many people are still coming to make a week end of it as they have been unable to get refunds on some accommodations, therefore, our club is looking to have a get together with anyone still coming and we may even go to Diamond Head for a surf and will definitely be having a BBQ in the park at Bonnies, all welcome. The committee and members will look to fixing a date for next year that does not conflict with the Aussie titles and BIG BROTHER!!!!! We are sorry for any inconvenience caused but must stress that it is all out of our control. We look forward to seeing our fellow surfers and families next year.
